For many individuals who take prescription drugs for the treatment of Bipolar Disorder, it isn't any secret that one of the more common  medication side effects is weight gain.

Unfortunately this weight gain causes some people to abandon the medicine they need to keep them stable.  I have always taken a special interest in this topic (in fact when Bipolar World first began it was under the name "Psychiatric Drugs and Weight Gain"

If stopping medication isn't the answer how can we help ourselves?  In this section there are articles on the medicines that cause weight gain, some theories about why they do so, and some suggestions about how to keep it under control including diet, nutrition exercise and healthy living.
